OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington State Patrol has made 2,863 impaired driver arrests in 2024 so far.

In addition to drunk driving, there have been 8,076 collisions investigated by WSP, 46 of which have included a fatality.

WSP reported an additional 7,254 distracted drivers and asked the public to remain vigilant while driving.

“Let’s work together to keep the roads safe by remembering to drive distraction-free and encouraging those around you to do the same,” WSP said.

The Washington State Department of Transportation is targeting a zero highway fatalities goal by 2030.
