One person in custody, at least one displaced after apartment fire in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. — One person is in custody and at least one is displaced after apartment fire in Spokane Saturday night.

According to the Spokane Fire Department, crews responded to East 7th Avenue and South Helena Street for reports of a fire. SFD said the fire spread from the garage to the apartment complex.

SFD and SPD confirmed this incident is being investigated as arson. One person was taken into custody on a felony domestic violence protection order. More charges could be added.

The apartment manager confirmed they are trying to find housing for those affected.
