SPOKANE, Wash. – Do you have an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math? Ever think about reporting on the news?

NonStop Local KHQ’s STEM program is offering one student the opportunity of a lifetime to “go on assignment” with NonStop Local’s award-winning team of anchor/reporter Kalae Chock and photographer/editor Eric Hultz. You will collaborate with them to create a unique one-of-a-kind piece that will air on NonStop Local KHQ-TV and stream.

This experience will include travel. You and one parent, or guardian, will travel to Houston, Texas for three days. While there, you will tour NASA’s Johnson Space Center and conduct some high-profile interviews!

Upon return to Spokane, you will work with Kalae and Eric to produce the final piece and present it on TV. This will truly enable you to replicate the actions of a real-life reporter every step of the way, start to finish. You will also receive a certificate of completion.

To be considered for this opportunity, visit NonStopLocal.com/STEM and tell us why you should be selected for the Junior Journalist Experience. Please be sure to read the rules and dates of travel. You must be between the ages of 13 and 18 to apply. Submissions will be accepted through April 18, 2024. Recipient will be announced April 22, 2024.
