SPOKANE- The Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP) launched a new pilot program designed to expand security coverage for those shopping, dining or staying in downtown Spokane.

DSP will add new private security patrols. GoJoe Patrol will extend DSP’s presence across the Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) from 8 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week through December 31.

“Our highest priority is comfort and security when shopping in our stores, dining in our restaurants, visiting our venues, staying in our hotels and making new holiday memories in downtown Spokane,” Emilie Cameron, President and CEO of DSP, said in a press release.

The purpose of the pilot private security program is to add a visible deterrent to any potential threats.

Businesses, employers and the public can request safety escorts within the BID from 8 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. seven days a week by calling 509.353.9111.
