SPOKANE, Wash. — Exiting news for the area near Hillyard, a new playground at Wildhorse Park has officially opened today!

At 10 a.m. on Oct. 20, the Wildhorse Park’s new playground held a ribbon cutting for the grand opening.

The park is located at 3717 North Ralph Street near Esmeralda Golf Course in Hillyard.

“This is the third neighborhood park playground renovation we’ve celebrated in the past three weeks, and nothing makes me happier than seeing these investments in our neighborhoods,” said Garrett Jones, interim city administrator. “Improving playgrounds was one of the top community desires we heard in our master planning outreach. When you see kids being able to walk or ride their bike to a park and enjoy that new playground, we’re hitting at the heart of what we heard our community wants to see.”

There was a lot of time and thought put into this project to make a space for children to play. This 3,000 square foot playground allows kids to pick between a bunch of things to do.

The park has:

Construction of the Wildhorse Park playground started in September and costed $291,000 to complete, funded by the American Rescue Plan.
