New burglary charge added for suspect held at gunpoint by homeowner during break-in

SPOKANE, Wash. – A new burglary charge was added to the booking sheet of the man arrested at a south Spokane residence on Tuesday night after he was caught entering unannounced and held at gunpoint by the homeowner.

Around 20 minutes before he was caught by the homeowners and arrested, Spokane County deputies responded to a burglary call at the nearby El Katif Shriners Event Center. Upon reviewing surveillance footage, investigators saw a man caught on camera wearing the same clothing as the suspect.

Given the clothing match, timeframe, and proximity of the incidents, a new charge of second-degree burglary was added to the suspect’s booking sheet.
