SPOKANE, Wash. — The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued an air stagnation advisory for much of the region starting today through Thursday morning.

This advisory has been issued because of the stagnant conditions in the area. With strong inversions and little wind there is a potential to trap pollutants near the ground with deteriorated air.

Those individuals in sensitive groups should closely monitor the air quality index until 11 a.m. on Thursday. After this advisory expires, there will be a shift in the weather pattern.

Here comes the snow! A series of storms will bring multiple rounds of precipitation to the PNW by the end of the week. Best chances for lowland snow will be on Friday! Moderate to heavy mountain snow will continue into weekend. *Reposted to edit correct Issued Date* pic.twitter.com/YMdHegokMh— NWS Spokane (@NWSSpokane) November 28, 2023

This means that there will be some much needed mountain snow for the ski resorts. There is also a possibility for snow in the valley as well!

So far this season there hasn’t been much snowfall and ski resorts are waiting for a big snowfall. Maybe after this weekend, resorts in our area will open for ski season.
