Multiple injured after head-on collision near Spokane Falls Community College

SPOKANE, Wash. — After four hours, Government Way has been reopened to drivers.

Spokane County Fire District 10 officials reported that three out of the four occupants of vehicles were transported to the hospital due to this head-on collision.

A section of Government Way near Spokane Falls Community College is closed after an early morning crash.

Around 1 a.m. on Dec. 27, a Washington state trooper discovered an accident on north Government Way and north Houston Road. Other law enforcement agencies were dispatched to the location to assist with the investigation.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Government Way is closed for about a quarter mile past west Trails Road. They also say that they believe that this is a two-car crash and one occupant has been transported to the hospital.

Initial information from their investigation has shown that this may have been a road rage incident.

At this time, law enforcement will stay on scene to continue investigation and have not estimated when Government Way will open back up.

If you are heading out the door this morning, try to avoid heading on Government Way to avoid longer commute times.

Right now there has been no information released regarding a detour set in place.
