DEER PARK, Wash. — A motorcyclist is dead after traveling 80-100 mph down a road before colliding with an SUV in Deer Park on Tuesday night.

On Nov. 14 around 5:30 p.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies were finishing up a call on North Colville Road and East 2nd Avenue when they heard a motorcycle speeding past them.

Deputies in their vehicles flashed their light at the rider, but he did not slow down.

Not long after the motorcyclist passed by, deputies were called to a crash on Crawford and Mission involving a motorcycle. The blue and white Suzuki motorcycle was the same one that sped right by them.

Emergency personnel performed life measures but pronounced the motorcyclists dead on scene.

Due to the severity of the incident, Traffic Unit Investigators were called to the scene to start a full investigation. Initial information revealed that the motorcyclist was driving recklessly and at a high speed, possibly 80-100 mph, before this crash.

A woman, driving an SUV, was stopped and began to turn onto the road once it was clear. As she was turning she saw a single headlight approaching, she attempted to speed up to avoid the collision.

Unfortunately the motorcyclist was driving very fast and hit the back of the SUV.

The woman driving and her two children were not injured in this accident.

Traffic Unit Investigators were on site for hours collecting evidence and documenting the crash scene. The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity, cause and manner of death at a later date.

This is an ongoing investigation. Information will be updated as we learn more
