MOSES LAKE, Wash. — Moses Lake police were able to locate a burglary suspect that was connected to multiple thefts connected to the same business.

The morning of Jan. 31, Moses Lake police responded to a burglary at a business in the 400 block of east Broadway involving the theft of some high dollar tools.

As police arrived on scene, with assistance from Grand County Sheriff’s Office, they were able to use a drone and locate a suspect at a camp in the 900 block of Wheeler Road.

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Melo Martinez, was found in possession of stolen tools from the business. When officers approached him, Martinez admitted to the burglary.

All of the stolen tools were recovered and brought to their owner. Martinez was also then tied to a previous burglary at the same business.

Martinez was booked into Grant County Jail on two counts of burglary, two counts of first-degree theft, one count of trafficking stolen property and two counts of malicious mischief.

While officers and deputies investigated the camp, they found a stolen dirt bike and were able to return it to the registered owner.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available. Check back for updates.
