More than 65% of people to travel for the holidays, survey says

Holiday travel trends change every year in the United States, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic which prevented travel for many people. But how many people are travelling this year?

According to a survey run by The Vacationer, 67.23% of American adults are planning to travel for Thanksgiving, Christmas or both, which is over 174 million people and 6% more than last year.

Christmas travel is also preferred over Thanksgiving travel by 41%.

With the massive amount of people travelling for the holidays however, airlines are bound to have delays and cancellations.

Over 59% of American adults say that they have little to no confidence in airlines being able to avoid delays and cancellations this year.

The Vacationer’s survey also asked its 1,013 American adult participants which Thanksgiving food is the worst:

Cranberry Sauce – 31.49%Sweet Potatoes or Yams – 29.22%Green Bean Casserole – 28.04%Turkey – 27.74%Stuffing/Dressing – 26.75%

Over 31% of respondents said they do not want cranberry sauce included in Thanksgiving dinner.
