MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. – Medical Lake High School was briefly evacuated on Friday due to a malfunctioning water pipe according to the school district.
No additional information on the nature of the water issue was shared by the district, but students did return to class on Friday without any additional incidents.
District Superintendent Kim Headrick told The Spokesman Review that repairing current facilities may not be an option for Medical Lake in the coming years.
“That is not going to be sustainable long-term,” Headrick told the Spokesman.
Following wildfires which devastated Medical Lake during the summer of 2023, school district buildings passed safety inspections ordered by the superintendent.
