Mead School District Levy on track to be approved by voters

SPOKANE, Wash.- Mead School District voters are on track to approve a levy to sustain the district’s current funding levels on Feb. 13.

If approved, the levy, entitled Proposition No. 1 for Mead School District, will would replace a levy which was passed in 2021 and provides funding to district schools until the end of 2024.

The new levy which supported by voters will increase the taxation rate on citizens in the district, but simply replaces the pre-existing levy’s funding regime.

The levy will collected approximately $29,340,000 in 2025 and increased to $31,730,000 in 2027 if approved.

Preliminary results show 7,401 voted to approve the measure with 6,912 voting no.
