Man shot after stabbing Quincy officer at Jackpot Food Mart

QUINCY, Wash. – A man was shot and killed after he stabbed a Quincy officer in the arm Monday night.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), officers responded to Jackpot Food Mart after receiving reports of a man with a knife. When officers arrived on the scene and tried to approach the man, GCSO said an officer was stabbed in the arm and shoulder.

Shots were fired at the suspect, who died on the scene. The officer suffers non-life threatening injuries and is being treated at Quincy Valley Medical Center.

Members of the Central Basin Investigative Team and an independent use of force investigation team remain on the scene to gather evidence and witness statements.

A suspect is dead, and an officer is injured after a shooting near Jackpot Food Mart in Quincy.

GCSO shared in a Facebook post that officers were responding to 304 F Street Southeast for an officer-involved shooting. One person was confirmed dead, and a deputy was injured.
