Man in custody after robbery in downtown Spokane, second suspect on the run

SPOKANE, Wash. – A man is in custody after attempting to pull a knife on the store manager of the 7/11 in downtown Spokane.

The Spokane Police Department (SPD) said a man was attempting to shoplift at the 7/11 on East Second Avenue and North Division Street. The man pulled a knife on the store manager, who was trying to stop the theft.

SPD confirmed one man helped the shoplifter escape. That man is in custody and will be charged with first-degree robbery.

SPD is reviewing security footage to help identify the second suspect who will also be charged with first-degree robbery. This incident is unrelated to the robbery earlier Monday evening on Spokane’s South Hill.

No one was injured in this incident.
