SPOKANE, Wash. — A man is sentenced up to 15 years in prison after he strangled his girlfriend.

According to our partners at The Spokesman-Review, Corbin Hood asked for the extended sentence on Friday, saying the 175-month sentence was too light. Hood pleaded guilty to killing 30-year-old Stephanie Stine inside a house on West Boone in West Central Spokane in July 2022.

According to The Spokesman-Review, Hood called multiple people before calling 911 and giving them a fake name. He then escaped to Florida after her death.
