SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies found and arrested a possibly armed domestic violence suspect in a wooded area near south Grove Road Wednesday night.

On Oct. 18 around 7 p.m., deputies responded to a domestic violence incident near I-90 and south Grove Road.

An AMR employee released that he was waved down by an adult male who said that he was attacked by his ex-husband. The victim said that the suspect was armed with a utility knife and scissors.

The suspect was last seen in a wooded area off the roadway, according to the victim.

After deputies spoke to the victim, they believed that the suspect was most likely injured from the incident.

Deputies requested Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) to assist them during their search. On foot, deputies found a damaged camping tent, items thrown around the area and what appeared to be blood drops.

Just before 9 p.m., the UAS operator located the suspect. Deputies arrived at his location and saw that he was injured. They provided medical treatment and were able to safely detain him.

When speaking with the victim and the suspect, information was incomplete which left the incident unclear.

After checking the suspects name, it showed a protection order between both individuals and showed an active misdemeanor warrant for violating a protection order.

He was provided treatment for his injuries and was booked into Spokane County Jail for his warrant and a new charge of violation of a protection order with violence.
