Major traffic impacts coming to Interstate 90 in Coeur d’Alene

Coeur d’Alene, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Transportation is warning drivers about ongoing construction projects along the I-90 corridor that could cause delays.

Wednesday night, Huetter Road beneath I-90 will be shutdown from 6:00pm to 6:00am. Crews will set bridge girders and beams that support the bridge deck.

In the coming weeks, drivers will have to deal with two temporary ramp closures.

The I-90 eastbound on-ramp from Northwest Boulevard will be closed starting June 1.

The I-90 eastbound off-ramp for US-95 will be closed June 8.

Each closure is scheduled to be approximately one week. Crews will rebuild the ramps to conform to the new widening project and handle future traffic growth.

Electronic message boards and signs will provide drivers with traffic information and detour guidance.

The widening project is expected to continue through 2029.
