MOSCOW, Idaho – A shooting threat directed at Moscow High School Tuesday afternoon was deemed not credible by investigators.

According to Moscow Police Department, officers and deputies from Latah County Sheriff’s Office responded to the high school just after noon on Sept. 26 due to a report of two active shooters on campus.

The school and nearby businesses were locked down while officers worked to clear the scene. It was quickly determined there was no credible threat, and lockdowns lifted shortly after.

This is the second false threat against Moscow HS reported this year, with a similar scare occurring back in February.

False reporting is a misdemeanor in Idaho. Adults convicted of perjury face no less than one year in prison, up to 14 years.
