LEWISTON, Idaho — ‘Three Little Free Libraries’ are now installed thanks to Lewiston High School (LHS) National Honor Society students.

According to Lewiston Parks Recreation, LHS National Honor Society students donated the small libraries at Orchards Pool, Sunset Park, and Syringa Park.

The idea of these miniature libraries is to ‘take a book, share a book,’ and anyone can borrow or contribute.

Alex Johnson led the design and construction of the ‘Little Free Library’ at Syringa Park.

“This specific project aligned perfectly with our goals, and I enjoy building things,” said Johnson.

According to Lewiston Parks Recreation, the other two libraries were constructed by students using specialized kits. The LHS students raised $2,000 through blood drives that paid for the materials. The National Honor Society students donated all the books.
