Lewis County deputies save three people in a trailer from a fallen tree

WINCHESTER, Idaho- Lewis County deputies and other emergency response departments were able to save three people from a fallen tree.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Facebook states on Feb. 29 at 8:15 a.m., Lewis County Emergency Communications Center received a report of a tree that had fallen onto a fifth-wheel trailer, the tree also fell across a powerline at 216 Nezperce Avenue.

When the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office arrived, they learned that three occupants remained in the trailer.

Deputies entered the trailer and found the three occupants were not injured however the deputies decided to remain inside a stable portion of the trailer due to the debris of a fallen tree and the downed powerline.

Winchester Fire Department, Winchester Quick Response unit and Avista arrived on the scene and were able to de-energize the powerlines and were able to cut a path into the trailer and safely evocate the occupants.
