SPOKANE, Wash. – A man accused of stealing an e-bike worth $1,000 was arrested by Spokane Valley law enforcement on March 5.

Tyler Nichols is accused of cutting a bike lock to steal the bicycle from its owner in the Spokane Valley near Sprague.

Because the bike had a GPS tracker, the owner was able to give deputies access to the updated location of the item later that day.

Law enforcement arrested Nichols after finding the bike in his vehicle. According to police, he admitted the theft after initially claiming that he found the bike lying on the edge of a trial.

The bike’s owner was given the bike back by police, and Nichols was taken to Spokane County Jail, where he faces theft and drug possession charges.
