Kettle Falls School District opens investigation after employee allegedly kissed kindergartener

KETTLE FALLS, Idaho- The Kettle Falls School District is hiring an independent investigator following the arrest of a district employee who allegedly kissed a kindergartener on Feb. 8.

The investigator will review the district’s hiring and screening practices and suggest potential policy changes.

Nathan Ford, the man accused of the inappropriate conduct, passed both state and federal background checks before gaining employment at the Early Learning Center where the incident took place. Ford has been charged with assault with sexual motivation.

According to the district, the independent review will take place after interviews for the criminal investigation of Ford by the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office have concluded.
