PULLMAN, Wash. – A Pullman man was arrested by police on Tuesday for killing his estranged wife. Court documents reveal new information about the circumstances which led to the murder charge.

According to Whitman County Jail booking documents, Jacob Spray was arrested at around 9 pm on Tuesday.

The investigation began with a wellness check after a 911 call from Spray’s estranged wife, Jamie Wilson Spray, ended in a scream followed by silence.

When an officer contacted Jacob Spray, he was told that his wife was staying at his trailer in Pullman.

Upon arriving at the trailer, an officer found that the stove burner was on and Jamie Wilson Spray unresponsive.

“Jaime appeared to be deceased and had marks near her neck. I suspected she had been strangled as I saw no other obvious injury,” an officer said in the booking report.

Jacob Spray was located by law enforcement at the residence where he had purportedly been staying since he and his wife began undergoing a divorce according to court documents.

Spray was tasered by officers and transported to Pullman Regional Hospital, where he was officially taken into police custody.

Spray is currently in Whitman County Jail and is facing murder and assault charges.
