Inmate escapes from Franklin County Corrections Center

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. – An inmate escaped the Franklin County Corrections Center and is wanted for violating the terms of his leave.

Michael Nelson, 33, was being held on charges of thirst-degree assault, theft of a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and kidnapping. On Nov. 2, a judge granted Nelson furloughed release with an order to return.

Nelson is now facing an escape charge as he has yet to turn himself in to Franklin County Corrections.

Nelson is 6’0″, approximately 190 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says he may also go by Michael Godfrey.
