Injured rock climber taken to hospital by ambulance near Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash. — A rock climber was taken to the hospital by helicopter on Saturday after they became injured near Yakima.

According to the Naches Fire Department (NFD), the call came in on March 16 after reports of an injured rock climber in the area of the old transfer station near Willows Campground on Highway 12 just above Trout Lodge. NFD said the patient was successfully taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office and Central Washington Mountain Rescue responded to this incident.
