IDAHO – The Idaho State Capitol was one of at least seven targets of a bomb threat early Wednesday morning.

Idaho State Police (ISP) confirmed the bomb threat came in through an email around 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 3. ISP and the Idaho Department of Administration were immediately informed. ISP deployed explosive detection canines and additional troopers to conduct thorough searches of the building.

ISP and DOA searched inside and outside the building and found no explosives.

“Fortunately, given the early hour, there was minimal impact on state employees,” said Aaron Snell, Communications Director for ISP.

Connecticut, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi and Montana were among some of the states targeted by these threats.
