Idaho man arrested for possession of methamphetamine near Stites

GRANGEVILLE, Idaho – A man was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine and other charges after being stopped for a traffic violation on Highway 13, early Saturday morning.

An Idaho County deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation just before 3:30 am, and the deputy checked on the driver while a K-9 sniffed around the outside of the car.

The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office reports the K-9 alerted to something in the car, and upon speaking with the people inside, methamphetamine was found inside a coat.

A man inside the car reportedly tried to grab the coat from the deputy and another deputy attempted to take control of the man’s arm.

According to the sheriff’s office, 41-year-old James Blackeagle of Kamiah, Idaho was arrested for the following: felony possession of methamphetamine, felony attempted battery on certain personnel, misdemeanor resist and obstruct and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
