BIG CREEK, Idaho – A man was arrested for burglarizing a home near Big Creek Wednesday afternoon.

Shoshone County deputies were dispatched to the area after receiving a report from the owner of the house. According to the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office, the owner had recently left her home, but found it “in a state of disarray” when she returned.

While a deputy was on their way to her home, the owner called a family member and told them about the incident.

Afterward, the family member responded to the home, and while on their way, reportedly observed a man walking down Big Creek wearing clothing that they identified as belonging to the victim.

The family member then allegedly confronted the man and retrieved the clothing.

After investigating, the deputy contacted the suspect, identified as 48-year-old Carey W. Zanetti from Wallace, Idaho, and took him into custody.

Zanetti was charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, and unlawful entry.
