TWIN LAKES, Idaho — Kootenai County detectives have identified the human remains that were found near Timber Ridge Road on Nov. 26.

KCSO received a positive identification that the remains found belong to 36-year-old Jacob Fulwiler.

Fulwiler was last seen at his home north of Twin Lakes on the morning of Feb. 20. Wherever he went, he did not take his vehicle or cell phone.

His family filed a missing persons report with the KCSO and they reported him as an “endangered missing person.”

Friends, family members and first responders have combed through the dense forest from Twin Lakes to Spirit Lake and beyond. But they were not able to find a trace of Fulwiler.

But on Nov. 26 around 9:40 a.m., local hunters contacted the KCSO as they came across body parts on their private property.

According to the Kootenai County Coroner’s Office, they believe that those remains had been there for months.

At this time, the cause of death and toxicology for Jacob Fulwiler is still under investigation with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.
