‘Help us out, what if it was your family?’ Chesaw double murder suspect remains on the run

CHESAW, Wash. — This week marks exactly two years since Dave and Geralyn Covey were found murdered at their Chesaw property in Okanogan County. Whoever did this, tried to conceal their remains. Investigators quickly honed in on a suspect, Dylan Harrington.

Harrington had been reportedly squatting near the Covey’s land. He’s been on the run since the double murder. In March of 2023, word of a $5,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest was released by the U.S. Marshals.

Even with the cash reward, the accused killer has still not been found.

“You’re always hoping…crossing your fingers,” Dave’s daughter Debbie said.

For exactly two years, Debbie has done her best to hang on to that as she is desperate for justice for her beloved father and his wife Ger. He was 80-years-old, and Ger was 66 when they were murdered.

The couple has been described as good, giving people, doting dog parents, and proud grandparents. Dave and Ger were checking on their property in Chesaw after noticing some strange discrepancies with their power bill.

“That’s how they knew something was going on, their power bill, there was usage when there shouldn’t have been,” Debbie said.

The person accused of using it was Dylan Harrington. After the couple’s remains were found, he seemingly vanished. Late last year, possible sightings of him in North Idaho made headlines.

“It was not him,” Debbie said.

Still, Debbie was full of gratitude that our region continues to be on the lookout.

“It wasn’t him…but the good thing is more people knew about the case…so to the person who called it in, we appreciate it,” she said.

She continues to plead with anyone who can help them get some level of peace and justice to do the right thing and call the police.

“Help us out,” she said. “What if it was your family that this happened to. You’d want someone to come forward.”

Dylan Harrington is about 5’9, 145 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Any sightings can be reported to the U.S. Marshals at (866) 865-TIPS (8477) or you can submit a tip electronically here: https://www.usmarshals.gov/what-we-do/fugitive-investigations/submitting-a-tip
