Head-on collision with car and semi-truck in Spangle results in serious injuries

SPANGLE, Wash. – Spokane County Fire District 3 responded to a head-on collision between a car and a semi-truck hauling grain near East Keevy Road and South Old Street.

According to SCFD, the call came in around 12:12 p.m., initiating an extrication response.

The car was impacted on the passenger side of the vehicle mainly. The car sustained significant damage and, at one point, caught fire.

The extrication of the driver took over 20 minutes, and the driver was unconscious and was taken to the hospital shortly after the rescue. The driver of the semi-truck remained on the scene, assisting authorities in the investigation.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office will be taking over the investigation to try and find out what happened.
