Gonzaga University to host Duke Ellington tribute concert

SPOKANE, Wash. – Jazz is coming to Spokane, Gonzaga University will be hosting a jazz concert in tribute to musician Duke Ellington.

Duke Ellington who considered by the music community to be one of the greatest jazz composers of all time and released 1,000 songs.

His impact on music will be the focal point of the concert and will feature Gonzaga faculty, students and professional musicians from Spokane’s classical and jazz communities.

The performers highlighted in this event will be Gonzaga faulty vocalist Dr. Jadrian Tarver and Boston-based conductor and Gonzaga alum William Drury who is heading The Spokane Symphony Chorale.

The concert will take place on Gonzaga’s campus at the Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center and will start on Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m.

Ticket prices start at $5 and up to $15.
