Gonzaga University Theatre and Dance Department to host student lead film festival

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga University will be hosting a film festival in their Celebrate EveryBODY event.

This year’s event will include a film festival that will feature several short films most notably a “Dance for Parkinson’s.” A short film highlighting dance participants with Parkinson’s and shows how people with the disease can feel like artists.

Maria Scott, a Gonzaga dance student teacher stated that they made the film will help create and let people understand the art that goes into dancing and that dancing like any art is non-exclusive.

Celebrate EveryBODY is an annual, approximately weeklong event at Gonzaga University that emphasizes inclusivity and body positivity. It began as a dance-centric event but now includes contributions from other disciplines.

The film festival will be on Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
