Former Gonzaga Prep standout coming home to play for EWU

CHENEY, Wash – A former Gonzaga Prep standout and all-GSL basketball player is coming back to the Inland Northwest to play for EWU.

EWU announced Monday Jamil Miller is transferring in after playing a season at Kennesaw State.

Miller earned all-conference honors as a freshman at Prep, then was named league MVP as a sophomore.

He then played for Combine Academy, a sports-centered boarding school in North Carolina.

As a freshman at Kennesaw State, Miller started in 27 games, averaging 6.8 points and 4.8 rebounds.

He did not play in the 2025-2026 season.

“Jamil will be an immediate impact piece for us in 2026–27,” said EWU Coach Dan Monson. “His ability to defend, rebound and score in a variety of ways will translate right away. Starting 27 games in Conference USA as a true freshman speaks to both his mental and physical toughness. We’re excited to bring Jamil back home to Spokane County.”
