Family remembers woman found dead after reported shooting in northeast Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. — The family of the 23-year-old woman found dead after a reported shooting in northeast Spokane Friday night will never forget her “infectious laugh” and kind soul.

Kiara Leielle Morgan-Weiland was found dead in the area of Cleveland and Cuba just after 11 p.m. on Dec. 10. When Spokane police arrived on scene she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors in the area called police after hearing gunshots. At this time the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released her manner or cause of death.

But, Kiara’s family described her as, “super kind, compassionate and was a loving person. She was also playful, funny and knew how to have a good time”

She also had a young son, Gionanni, who was born on June 2, 2022. ” She loved her babies, her family and friends immensely,” said her family, “her dream was to be a mom.”

Aside from being a mother, daughter and a friend; she had dreams of her own “her dream was to be a chef… she was also a talented makeup artist.”

Overall her family will always remember “her infectious laugh that filled every room.”
