MARYSVILLE, Wash. – The family of Washington State Patrol (WSP) trooper Chris Gadd, who was killed by a driver who was allegedly speeding on March 2, is mourning the loss of the 27-year-old.

Gadd was married and had a 2-year-old daughter and is the 33rd death in the line of duty in WSP’s 103 year history.

“We are working through what is undoubtedly the most difficult of times for our family as we mourn the loss of a loving husband, devoted father, caring brother, beloved son, and committed friend,” the family said.

A memorial foundation in observance of Gadd’s memory has been launched by WSP.

“We appreciate the outpouring of support we have seen from the community that Christ loved and served,” the family said.

An arrest has been taken into custody in connection with Gadd’s death and faces a vehicular homicide charge.
