Euclid Road Bridge in Airway Heights to reopen after 4-year closure

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. – Over four years later, the Euclid Road Bridge in Airway Heights will reopen next month.

On Dec. 4 at 11 a.m., Spokane County Public Works will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the bridge’s opening.

In June 2019, Spokane County’s Public Works closed the bridge as it was “structurally unsafe.” The county had set a 5-ton limit, but after rechecking it, they found two critical failures in the bridge’s substructure. After discovering these failures, the bridge was deemed unsafe and was closed.

The bridge’s closure caused many issues for families and first responders in the area, adding longer commute times for the past four years.

Spokane County Fire District 10, Airway Heights officials, representatives from the Fairchild Air Force Base SERE School and the Personnel Recovery Academy will attend the celebration.
