ESPN: Washington State Supreme Court issues stay on order giving WSU, OSU control of Pac-12

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Oregon State University and Washington State University reached another hurdle in their quest for control over the Pac-12 board of directors Thursday.

According to reporting by ESPN, the Washington State Supreme Court issued a temporary stay of Whitman County Superior Court Judge Gary Libey’s injunction in favor of WSU and OSU, a move that was widely expected.

Attorneys for the University of Washington said during Tuesday’s hearing that they planned to challenge.

Thursday’s order wasn’t quite what UW attorneys asked for. The court asked both parties to file briefs regarding Washington’s emergency stay request by Nov. 28.

In the interim, that still means OSU and WSU don’t yet have control of the board.
