Eastern Washington University to host former Denver Broncos vice president

SPOKANE, Wash.- Eastern Washington University (EWU) will host former Denver Broncos Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) China Jude for a dialogue with university president Shari McMahan on Feb. 28.

The event, which is described by the university as an event to close out Black History Month, is entitled “Knowledge-Proximity-Relationships: Three Things that Will Take You to the Next Level.

Jude, who holds a doctorate, will offer a presentation on professional growth to students and faculty. Her own journey as a business leader includes being named one of the 50 most influential Black people in sports.

A conversation with attendees will be moderated by Associate Dean Angela Schwendiman.

EWU’s president thanked the university community for a successful Black History Month while discussing Jude’s upcoming visit to campus.

“I want to express my gratitude to the students, faculty and staff who did an outstanding job organizing the numerous campus activities in recognition of Black History Month,” McMahan said.

McMahan emphasized that the work of the month should continue throughout the year. Events highlighting DEI are regularly hosted by the university’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
