Eastbound I-90 open after several crashes led to 7-mile backup near Liberty Lake

SPOKANE, Wash. – Several crashes along I-90 have forced multiple closures, snarling traffic across the region.

Eastbound I-90 in Liberty Lake is now open after multiple crashes, slide-offs, and stalled vehicles led to a seven mile backup for hours Wednesday afternoon. According to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), a collision near Liberty Lake involved a semi and at least a dozen other cars.

WSDOT said traffic will continue to be diverted off I-90 at Sullivan until the backup fully clears and plows can get through. WSDOT urges you to use other routes and avoid driving if possible.

A disabled semi-truck is partially blocking I-90 westbound to southbound US 195. Traffic is slow moving through that area, and you should expect delays.

Multiple crashes and stalled vehicles on I-90 westbound near Sunset Hill caused a large standstill Wednesday afternoon. The crash has since cleared, but WSDOT warns that road conditions have deteriorated quickly and you should avoid travel if possible.

For more information on traffic conditions, visit the WSDOT website.
