Dog shot by Lewiston police for allegedly being aggressive towards boy

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewiston police shot a dog late last evening on the 500 block of Park Street for allegedly being aggressive towards a young person.

On March 2, around 4:59 p.m. Lewiston police got called and were dispatched about a domestic violence situation that regarded a allegedly vicious dog and a young male.

Police report that the dog was foaming at the mouth and was barking at the juvenile.

Officers tried to assist the young male and the allegedly aggressive dog then came at the juvenile. An officer then pulled his gun out and shot the dog as it was running past him toward the juvenile.

Lewiston police tried to assist the dog’s owners in locating a veterinarian for treatment.

This investigation is still ongoing.
