Damaged natural gas pipeline near Pullman restored, outage continues

PULLMAN, Wash. – The natural gas pipeline near Pullman that was damaged by an excavator Wednesday afternoon has been repaired.

On Nov. 8, a third party was working on a pipeline owned by the Williams Companies. The pipeline was hit, causing a significant gas leak, leaving tens of thousands of people without heat.

There were no injuries, no fire and no explosion associated with this incident. “An assessment and repair team was quickly mobilized to repair the damage to the pipeline, and as of today, the repairs have been successfully completed,” said the media team at Williams Companies.

Multiple school districts and businesses in the area closed as a result. Local heating contractor, Bill’s Heating and Air, provided free space heaters for those affected by the outage.

Although the pipeline has been fixed, there is no update on when services will be restored to affected customers.
