SPOKANE, Wash. – Court documents reveal new information in a suspected arson case in the West Central Neighborhood which left one person dead in a police shooting after he allegedly became combative during questioning.

Nicholes Whitney is facing six arson charges and is accused of intentionally setting the fire which burned down a house on West Dean on Easter Sunday.

According to court documents, Whitney was living at the house at the time and allegedly warned other residents that he would burn the location down. One witness said that Whitney told them to leave within 9 minutes.

“If you don’t want to die get the f**k out,” the witness described Whitney as saying.

Whitney was reportedly frustrated that other members of the house had been threatening him.

“The defendant stated he was tired of [residents of the house] pulling guns on him,” court documents state.

When police arrived at the house, they claim that Alex Jenks became uncooperative while being questioned. Jenks was shot and killed by Spokane police at the scene.

Whitney was arrested by Spokane police in Queen Avenue at around 3 am on Tuesday morning after being followed by officers according to court documents.
