Coeur d’Alene man killed in crash with Kenworth logging truck

SPIRIT LAKE, Idaho — A 39-year-old Coeur d’Alene died in a crash with a Kenworth Log truck north of Spirit Lake Thursday morning, according to the Idaho State Police.

The agency said the Coeur d’Alene man was driving a Ford F150 pickup northbound on State Highway 41 when he left the road, crashed into a ditch and then came back onto the road into the southbound lane.

A Kenworth logging truck driven by a 48-year-old Chewelah man was driving southbound, and the trucks collided head-on.

According to the Idaho State Police release, the Coeur d’Alene man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Kenworth driver wasn’t hurt.

Highway 41 was closed for about four hours while police investigated.
