SPOKANE, Wash. — The natural gas supplier for Avista, TC Energy, successfully repaired mechanical issues with its natural gas compressor stations.

With the extremely low temperature, Avista is asking its customers to continue conserving natural gas and electric use for the next 12 hours. By limiting use, it will stabilize the energy system.

“We appreciate our customers’ previous and continued efforts to conserve energy during this emergency. These efforts are making a difference and will continue to contribute to our energy system’s stability,” said Avista President and Chief Operating Officer Heather Rosentrater.

Avista is reminding people not to use any outdoor grill or other items intended for outdoor use for heating or cooking inside. People should ensure fireplaces and wood stoves are properly vented and space heaters are not near flammable objects.

Check in on friends and neighbors, especially those who are elderly and disabled, during these emergencies.
