Avista launches ‘My Energy Discount’ program for Washington residents

SPOKANE, Wash. — Avista has launched a new program for Washington residential customers to help them save money each month with an expanded Bill Assistance Program.

On Oct. 1, Avista will offer the new My Energy Discount – Washington which is a personalized bill discount to those who qualify.

This new program’s household size and income requirements are more inclusive than the previous options.

Compared to the traditional bill assistance models, this discount program offers quick and easy enrollment process.

“We’re excited to present this program to our Washington customers,” said Tamara Bradley, Manager of Social Impact at Avista. “Help is now easy to access and available today. Customers are encouraged to sign up and take advantage of this monthly savings opportunity, before cold weather settles in.”

Even with this, participants can still utilize all the other programs and services their local community agency offers, including other types of energy assistance.

“To apply, customers simply need to contact us. It takes just a few minutes and there’s no paperwork required,” said Bradley. “If they’re approved, their discount will be good for two years.”

All customers who have not applied or weren’t approved for assistance in the past are strongly encouraged to apply for My Energy Discount – Washington.

“[It] gives us the ability to provide a meaningful ongoing solution to those struggling to keep up with their bills,” said Bradley. “Funding is available to all eligible Washington customers.
