GRANT COUNTY, Wash. – Grant County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) released new information on a school bus and a pickup truck crash that resulted in 13 children injured and one man that were transported to the hospital.

According to GCSO the Wahluke School District school bus was traveling south on Road O-SW at around 3:40pm Monday with 17 students grades K-8th.

A 2001 Dodge pickup that was traveling east on Road 27-SW failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the bus on the driver’s side causing the bus to roll onto its side.

13 students were injured and were transported to Kadlec Medical Center or Trios Southridge Hospital. None of the injuries were life threatening.

The remaining four students that were on the bus were examined by EMTs and released to their families.

Jose Ramirez, 48, was driving the school bus when it crashed. He was examined by EMT’s but did not receive any medical treatment.

Marco Bravo Guerrero, 40, was the driver of the pickup truck that struck the bus. He had serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Kadlec Medical Center.

GCSO says low visibility due to fog is suspected to have played a role in this crash.
