As wind shifted, prescribed burn in Idaho brings smoke into the area!

SPOKANE, Wash. — Many people in the are have mentioned smoke in the air. There are no new wildfires in our area, a 2,000 acre prescribed burn on the Montana border brought smoke into the Spokane area.

Northern Lakes Fire Protection District stated that the 2,000 acre burn near Montana as well as a burn in the Coeur d’Alene River Ranger District is the reason for the increase in smoke.

Winds have shifted bringing it into our area.

Also, Spokane County Fire District 8 stated that there are no new brush fires in the Spokane County area.

They have patrolled the areas and will update if there is an emergency.
