CHEWELAH, Wash. — The suspect is in custody, and the situation has been peacefully resolved, according to Steven County Sheriff’s Office.

Police are investigating an armed subject near the Chewelah Police Department and City Hall.
According to the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office, residents are urged to stay away from the area, and a local residents’ shelter is in place.
